A Spring Break Treat

We didn't go anywhere for Spring Break this year. I usually try and do fun things with the girls; come up with "Hat Day, Pajama Day, Picnic in the Living Room" and stuff like that. It's been fun but..I don't think another year of that would be fun anymore! So...I decided to take them to get their nails done! I think Sarah smiled the whole time she was there. That was worth it all! This was her 1st time getting a manicure, but Emily has had it done before. They were so happy. It was a simple thing, but boy..they were just thrilled! It was fun. I love seeing them so happy.
They are growing and acting so much older. We shopped the other day, and we had a ball.....they tried on Easter dresses and it was just funny to see Sarah strut her "stuff". They are so cute and sweet, I know they will get older and it won't be the same, but I am totally enjoying them right now. I can still pick out a sweet dress, and they will go for it. Wait till they are teens! Emily is totally me....glittery, bright and disco looking dresses is what she wanted to try on..but..not for church! Maybe a wedding..but..not church! haha! Sarah went with any and all of the dresses! I will post pictures of that too-- later. That's a whole other story about shoes!
We had a great Spring Break, tho we did stay home and hang out. They played with their American Girl Dolls, and had a good time with some new things they got. They also stayed up late every night, and slept in! So that was a good thing for me! :) Grandma and Granddad got to have them over too. It was all good, and I am just a thankful Mom.....this is what I've dreamed of...my 2 precious girls!

We Surprised her!
My Mom's 78th birthday was March 6th. My sister and I decided to surprise her. We made arrangements and flew into Phoenix on a Thursday nite. Our flights were to be 45 minutes apart, but we ended up landing 10 minutes apart! Ron, (our bro, and his wife Elaine) picked us up from the airport. We were all excited to surprise her! We almost pee'd our pants! haha!
We got there, and Ron got her out of bed...thinking she had gotten a box in the mail...(what a big box at that!) She came into the kitchen and was so shocked to see my sister and I! "What are you doing here..?" is all she could say! "Happy Birthday!"..we said! It made all of our 2010! It was totally worth it. The picture above is all of us at her Birthday dinner at Red Lobster! We had a great time. It flew by.
My mom kept saying "That was the best birthday ever...it really was!" I think it made my year, to see her so happy. And.........I got to go alone...like a mini vacation for this stay at home mom! I was blessed to go, and very thankful to a wonderful hubby. I know he can take care of our girls, (I laid out clothes and made sure they had food...) But he is a great Dad....I had no worries. I am just totally blessed!
I hope that you can do something nice for your mom....it really doesnt have to be a ticket on a plane, it's just time that you spend with her. That is what moms want....time. After all...they sacrificed for us...when we were small; if all she wants is time..then give it to her. Some peeps dont have Moms that are alive and wish they did. Thank you Lord for a mom that loves me!
